whats the best camp bed to use, ive got sciatica and arthritis in my spine, and am finding it hard to get down to floor level on an airbed, and even worse trying to get up, ive seen somewere a high camp bed that has got a metal frame sitting about a foot and a half of ground, i cant remember were i saw them, any ideas
I dont know how comfy it would be for your back depending on how soft you like a bed, you could put one of thoses padded mattresses on the top, or a single airbed
yes thats the one, i saw one similar today at camping on tyne at prudhoe, it was 39.99 and i was tempted to buy, i never gave argos a thought, thanks for that , im looking at the intex rising beds too but dont want ehu when im camping so they may be out of the question
my oh has the same with his back we bought camp beds in argos he gets on fine put it this way he still snores so he doe's sleep , much better then air beds
from getting up from the floor we put thermal blankets underneath and also put owe bag's under so you have more storage space
Re the argos campbeds on the link above. We found one v similar in a local camping shop today, and had a quick lay down (not long enough for my liking, but you can't have it all can you?)
V comfortable, and we're now thinking of getting a couple. Have been using a double air mattress and neither of us sleep particularly well. Any ideas how the camp beds actually fold up, just thinking about space in the trailer.
Hi Folks.. excellent choice IMHO. We have been using the Argos ones for a couple of years now and have had no problems. We put the two of them side by side and use a short piece of velcro in the centre to stop the beds moving apart. We then have a double air bed on top partially inflated then the double sleeping bag.Theres also a couple of layers of fleecy blankets between everything. They pack down into a bag of about 3ft x 6" x 4". I have seen the same at much higher prices elseware. Go on, you know it makes sence to get a realy good nights sleep.
------------- A case of beer has 24 cans, a day has 24 hours. Coincidence? I dont think so!
We bought some from Decathlon, they fold up umbrella style like the fold up chairs. They are really comfy and brill for my OH as he has back problems. they also get used for guest beds, the kids sleepovers and sun loungers in the garden, so well worth it
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?
Noticed that you are from Sunderland. Halfords (next to B&Q on the Pallion Road) have the same beds. We bought a couple from there that had been reduced to £14.99.
I loaned one of them to my mam who has the same kind of back problems as yourself, and she said she had a really comfortable night.
I alternate between an airbed and a campbed. I have problems with my back and this does the trick. We store the one not in use in the other inner and just swap them when needed. I bought rubberised canvas airbeds from Argos and they are really good. The campbed is a pole-frame with 4 W-shaped legs and I find it really comfortable. I saw a campbed at the weekend that was like a Layze-boy - it looked absolutely fantastic but at £60 I'll keep to the airbed/campbed trick!
