H guys! We've decided that would like to get a camping wardrobe (ideally one with hanging space and a few shelves) for our 2 weeks away (in 2 weeks time! Yay!. Can any of you recommend one please? I've looked at the Argos one which is quite cheap but i do wonder about the durability....

The Sunnflair Superlite Wardrobe is quite good, used mine for a couple of years.

Have look at the latest model here

The outwell wardrobes are really sturdy and bigger than you expect. Even the Small (3 internal shelves) has a hanging bar, sll you have to do is unzip the shelf sections. Available in small, medium or large (large being longer rather than higher though.) Small = Dims: 56x46x97cm (WxDxH) Medium = Dims: 56x46x139cm (WxDxH)

Hi Widget  May I ask exactly where the wardrobe will placed be in your tent? Okay I'm a nosey blighter, but the reason I'm asking this is because we bought a wardrobe to use on our main hols last year, and found it wasn't suitable to use in the spare bedroom of our frame tent. The side wall of the bedroom slopes slightly, and due to the height of the wardrobe we had to have it standing out quite a way from the 'wall', so it took up valuable floor space.

This year we bought a cheap clothes rail (like the Argos one), which is wide at the bottom, but the rail goes up from the centre of this, so we can put the base against the sloping wall without the rail pushing through the wall at the top - we don't have to have it standing out so far into the bedroom. I attached one of those canvas shelf units to the rail which was great for keeping clothes organised.

However, if you need to store your clothes in the living area, then maybe you need a proper covered camping wardrobe to prevent insects getting amongst your clothes

Hi everyone thanks for the replies.
The wardrobe is to go next to the smaller bedroom in our Outwell Indiana 8. It's quite a big space and the wardrobe will be placed end-on to the wall of the tent andback to the side of the bedroom if you can see what i mean!! We were only away for 4 nights and got so sick of rummaging around in suitcases. The wardrobe could possibly even fit in the spare bedroom as we won't have the cases in there... We would really like one that you can close as those damned creepy crawlies get everywhere, even when we make sure the spare bedroom is zipped up all the time!! Can earwigs teleport??

Hi

This was the larder I chose in the end .I was going to get 2 & thought I'd just get 1 for now to see how it fit in when we went camping, then buy the other 1. However received this montster & couldn't fit another in!! It's bigger than you think but it's absolutely the best piece of kit we have. We leave stuff we need to hand on the top ie. tea bags, spoon, flashlight, penknife etc) then, as there's only 2 x of us, we manage to fold all our clothes neatly into piles on the 3x shelves that you can see inside. There is a hanging rail at the top and each shelf comes out & then zips apart if you wanted to use this as a full length hangy bit, but find it better to keep the shelves in, cos you can put odds & s0ds in there as well. It's also been used as a larder when we're away for a week & we keep all food stuffs in there plus camping pans, bowls, plates, knives & forks. This is the business!!!!!

Got ours from outdoor megastore but I'm not sure whether they have any left. You should be able to get it in plenty of places as it's Outwell.

Good luck!

i`ve just got a clothes rail from ikea for our clothes to go on and what a bargian it was only £3.99 so if it`s crap it will go in the bin, but we have put it up and it seem`s quite sturdy.

the camping larder above looks like a short version of something we bought last year. has 5 shelves which hold clothes for 5 of us- we can put anything that we don't want our 2 yr old to get hold of on the top. we take some of the hangers you get given in shops (where the metal section twists round) you can then hang dresses etc onto the 2 sides and rear  keeping them crease free.  takes 5 mins to assemble and is very light. cannot remember name of it but bought it at sk camping in godstone. We leave the wardrobe that came with our folding camper at home. It takes a lot of floor space in the camper when packing up and holds hardly anything.
