The front panels unzip and roll upwards, but instead of doing this you can bring one out horizontally and support it with the two extra poles, spikes go in holes at each corner. You should also have two extra guy lines which you then use to guy the poles. You will end up with an extra, shady sheltered bit. But I must warn you that when I first erected my Ultima I did this and left the flap up all night. When it got cooler and dew came, it collected on the roof part above the flap bit and the whole thing sagged and the cross poles came out of their pockets. Distaster! I phoned the supplier who was very understanding, but I agreed to give it another go. Took it to Italy this summer, had it erected for about 4 weeks and it stood some heavy rain and terrific wind, no problem. But I didn't use the flap arrangement again!
