This is making me nervous. We have been drinking from water via aquarolls or similar for 30 years . All I do is empty and rinse after each use . They then stand in the garage until the next trip. I only hope OH doesnt see this or a change of old custom and practice will swiftly take place.
Thats what the water aquatabs are for, kills all ok dont make the water look clean if its muddy but least there is no bugs in it and it`s drinkable.
you can use milton instead of aquatabs 2.5ml per 5lt of water and its perfect for drinking after 10mins.
when we got our F/C few months back had a 40lt aquaroll and whale pump and stuff, we clean the roll with 2x more milton than you would use, left it for 24hrs and replace the pipes in the F/C as they seen better days as the pipes inside was green with algae, due to been stored with water in the pipe and its age.
besides we dont drink plain water we boil it and brew up with it, kids drink pop.

I won't use the water from the Aquaroll for drinking, a very big no-no! I get that straight from the tap, but, I have 2 small children who MAY just take a drink. Perhaps I am way over the top when it comes to bugs and germs in water.I can't really help it because its what I work on all day. You know the thing...growning and mutating germs.I'm a micro biologist.
I am a bacteriologist too, and would not worry about drinking water from an aquaroll. All I do with ours is rinse it before we go, either with Milton or something similar, let it stand for 20 mins, then rinse it with clear water. We tend to get though the water in our aquaroll in 24hrs so there is not much chance for harmful bacteria to grow in that time, anyway. So no need to worry about the water, ....now then .... BBQed food ... far more risky
