hi all,

It seems like there is a new Mountain Depot store opening soon at Freeport, Talke on the outskirts of Stoke on Trent.

Update:this store is scheduled to open this fri 11 aug.

I've not heard of them before but the website looks quite good - has anyone had any experiences (good or bad!) shopping at any of their other stores??

Theres one in cheshire oaks they have some great stuff. Was there yesterday  No tents on display only quite a small shop but packed to the roof with equipment. I would think the one at Freeport will be like Cheshire oaks no tent display. They doesn't tend to be any outside space or big enough space for them to put tents up for display purposes at these outlet villiages.

Theres a mountain warehouse store next to me in Dalton Park. They have a Mountainlife Moonraker 6 & 9 tent on display, very similar to Vango Diablo, The 9 is only £249, cheaper than diablo but not sure if its as good quality, I think the make must be exclusive to them. If I could find out if quality was alright I would buy it tomorrow. Any thoughts anybody.

i can see freeport from my house will be spending time down there

hope it is as good as their web pages

will be looking out for it to open

don't think the trespass shop will be very happy

We hsve a mountain warehouse in Clarks Village in Street, Somerset. It's an outlet so prices are quite good. They seem to be better for clothing and footwear but do sell their own branded tents plus a range of camping accessories.

I have bought fleeces from there and have recently bought  a nice pair of Karrimoor walking shoes, reduced from £55 to £38.50.
