It cost me about £70 to get the extra socket on my Shogun.
It is useful because it powers the fridge in the caravan when towing, trickle charges the leisure battery, and I believe also powers reversing lights if there are any on the caravan. Mine hasn't got them.
The fridge doesn't normally warm up much between home and site, unless you keep stopping and opening it to make butties or something on the way. The 12 volt only keeps it cool, it won't cool it down a lot from room temp anyway.
The main reason I got mine done was for topping up the battery after a weekend without EHU so that the motor mover will still work to get it on the drive when we get home.
Do you really need it?
