We are off to Beddgelert (Snowdon) on Sat for a week. We have all the anti-mosi oils wipes etc, but can anyone recommend some decent citronella candles and where from please. Also has anyone just returned from Cae Du campsite and could let us know the mosi situation at the moment. Thankyou in advance.
Just got back from a weekend in Drbyshire and one of my friends had a mosi-coil burner which was like a flattish screw top tin a bout 6" in diameter with a pierced top and a hanging hook. You light the coil and the smoke lasted about 5 hours - it seemed to be quite effective but I don't know where she got it from.
Hi
We were at Cae Du a fortnight ago, only for one night and we had to go to bed they were pretty bad. We stupidly forgot the repellant and any candles.
I've since bought a clearlite lamp on the recommendation of people on here

You can get these mosi- coil from Range if you have one local to you. I have also seen them in some camping shops too. We tried one once but made the mistake of putting it inside the tent. The smoke was unbelievable. I think they are really meant to be used just outside the tent door. The mossies didn't like the smoke and to be honest neither did we! The tent stunk for ages after
We use the yellow citronella tealights from Morrisons/Asda. Never had any bother with insects and the smell is nice too.
