Hi, has anyone got a 3 way fridge and run it by gas inside their tent? If so, did anyone have any problems, ie, carbon monoxide!! We were told "as long as it is by a window, it will be fine". We weren't and our son was very lucky. We have a Montana 6 and the fridge was an Ezetil 42 litre 3 way fridge. Were we too dense to believe such bad advice or is our fridge faulty? Some advice would be great to hear. Thankyou
just run our combicool for 10 days on gas in the tent not a problem, obviously you need ventilation, but the 3 way uses so little gas nothing more than a glorifed pilot light so i cant see the problem. i guess i would have your 3 way checked out , did you have anyother gas items running ? like a lantern ? if so this is more likely the item that can kill.
Thanks very much. We have no other gas items in our tent and after speaking to somone else who had the same incident have decided to take it back and exchange for a 2 way fridge instead! We could have just had a dodgy one but it has put us off using a gas fridge for a while anyway! Trading standards have been informed via consumer direct. I just hope we are a one off case. Thanks for getting back to us. Apart from that, we had a great time in France and hope to go again next year - with electric hook up!
Hi we've just been around Europe for two months and have run our Combi cool fridge in the tent the whole time and did not have any problems. We did keep the tent well ventilated though and had only done up the mesh door to the porch area most nights.
I've sent my mobicool 3 way back to the manufacturer.
Whilst in france camping the neighbours smelt gas and traced it to our tent. Also the air vent had blackend somewhat as had some plastic pipes in the vent area.
I'm awaiting info from Mobicool., I think I'd only run on gas in the future in a utility tent
