ive used the travel john disposable packs,when i go backpacking.got a box of 3 from tesco.small and lightweight.they have a substance that turns into a gel when wet.would only use when backpacking though as i like my portta potti when camping.

This was discussed in a thread recently and I thought I'd order one to give it a try.   It arrived really quickly and I tried it this morning and it is very good. I bought the extension pipe for an extra £1 as I was pretty sure I'd just manage to pee on my feet without it!

If you walk or cycle or similar I think they are worth carrying in your rucksac. I'm probably going to buy another to keep in the car!

It won't replace the BWL but for out and about toilet stops or festivals it looks pretty good!

Well, today I invented the solution for my 5 year old. A Woolworths £4 round Nappy bucket with an oval shaped hole cut in the lid using a jigsaw. Can't wait to try it out! Only for kids but, well, I was pleased with it....
