You can`t know for sure how much is left in a bottle, though there are complicated and inaccurate methods involving weighing the bottle or pouring hot water down the side.

Similarly, you can`t tell exactly how long a bottle will last because you have to take into account how many appliances you`ve been running off a bottle , how long you`ve been running them for and how high you turned the appliance up.

I long ago gave up trying to figure out either of the above, and now I take a second gas bottle.

Dont buy the magnetic guage that changes colour when you stick it on the side of the bottle. You would get a better estimate by consulting Mystic Meg.
