I bought a cobb relatively recently & found that the cooking times were longer than the recipe book said they should be. I've since read (on this forum) that the newer cobbs with the mesh sides take longer to cook. This makes sense as the cooling effect from the surrounding air will be greater.
I took a lot of the guesswork out of cooking with the cobb when I bought a digital oven thermometer from ebay. Now all I have to do is set the temperature that I want the core of the meat to reach, insert the probe into the cobb & an alarm sounds when its cooked.
