I've got a cheap Trangia copy (not sure if it's the same) and it's pretty good, it's not as durable as the real deal and it's far from non-stick, but at that price it's worth having around!

I agree its cheaper then a set of pans, as long as you have a good frying pan who cares.

is true that if you add water to the meths it stops the bottom of the pans going black with soot. If so, does it effect the heat of the flame?

Rich

I got one from Lidl on Monday and whilst it's a good value stove I had to get it changed twice. Once for bashed burner and then for missing bottom frame/burner holder (that's right - the main bit).

Good thing is that they exchange without question, but check next one before you leave the shop.

Jim

PS beware ebay. People are selling the £7.99 Lidl model for £18 and MORE (plus postage). Nearly Trangia prices (no R ).

Hi lobey, have you had it running yet, and if so is it any good?

I dont actually need a new stove, just thought I'd grab a bargain if it's going to be useful.

10% water added to the meths will stop a lot of the pan sooting.

Pan sooting is good though, it will speed up cooking as the black coating will transfer the heat better.
