Have just acquired used Conway Cruiser (hoping it will have loads of future use) and need a lock and leisure battery.  Have come to the fountain of knowledge for advice!  Which is best and where does one acquire them?  Also cost?

from memory we paid around £50 for our hitchlock from the dealer we got our FC from.  they did stock less expensive ones, but they didn't look as secure to us.  as for battery, would guess a local camping/caravan shop, couldn't comment on the price, as ours was included.

hope this is of some help to you?

When we had our Cruiser we bought an SAS hitchlock which seems quite robust and cost somewhere around £50 - I think.  We also had (what I think is called) a handle lock too.

Leisure battery is 75amp and was £20 from Camping International in Kent.

All 3 items worked very well on the Cruiser and are now on our caravan working equally well.

I'm sure you will have as much fun in your Cruiser as we did ours.  Enjoy!

Jazzycats.

For a hitch lock try ebay - I have just bought a Bulldog mini-hitch. Well reviewed in thief attack tests. Costs £60 in Halfords. Cost me £20 incl del. on ebay. Make sure they have TWO keys.

Many thanks for the autoexpress link.  Very interesting and will go with one of the 1st 3.  Thanks to all for tips.  Am also now looking at ebay.

Bought my Bulldog mini Hitchlock from ebay for just under £20 inc delivery. They come up often its worth keeping an eye on them as they vary dramatically in final selling price. I bid on 5 before finally winning one. There were 3 on sale, two went for close on £50.00 the third was the one I won for just under £20.00.

Would thoroughly recommend it.

Mike
