Beware! one tiny pinhole and thier useless. Better to suck the air out of decent quality bin liners.
Perhaps that depends on which ones you use? The Argos ones we bought were useless - they were only any good for one trip and then they didn't work any more. We tried the Betterware ones and found they worked fine (though they would have been better with a valve) as they were made of a different material and were stronger and more flexible ......... and at least they didn't re-inflate part way home. (Quite disconcerting when you hear a weird sound and see the contents of your boot [an estate car] rise in your rear view mirror!!
Whichever ones you use, you have to be careful with them. I have to remind the kids that although they are like bricks when deflated they are highly susceptible to mis-treatment - so don't throw them around - please, kids!
We wouldn't go camping without them now ..... they really do save space if you have duvets/sleeping bags/pillows etc. I'm still amazed by them, as a huge pile of bedding etc is dumped in our lounge for packing ......... and with half a dozen of these bags it's reduced to a much more manageable pile.
There is a technique to it though .......... as the air is being sucked out it's important to pat the bags with your hands to ensure they form a sort of brick shape - then they pack more easily. Otherwise you get lumps and bumps and can end up wasting space.
Personally, I wish somebody would invent a darned great big one, which would fit in my luggage space. Then perhaps I could just throw everything in, hit a switch in the car and watch the whole lot shrivel up into a tiny cube! Instead of which I now have to find how to pack in more 'rubbish' as the wife and kids now expect their 'shrunk' bedding to make space for their other garbage!!
Hmmmm ....... perhaps 'Honey, I shrunk the kids' might turn out to be prophetic?!!!
Oozat ;-)
