Just returned from hols and the carpet in our small campervan looks awful.
We have tried rugs and they 'walk' everywhere. We tried the velcro product that stcks to the back of the rug and grips the carpet. The rugs still 'walked' and left a residue of black adhesive on the carpet that is impossible to remove.
I would like to replace the carpet with something that is easier to clean,
Not a job we could do ourselves.
Can anyone recommend a floor covering and maybe a fitter in the South East England area.
Thanks folks
Brenda
Thanks folks,
I'll try the motorhome section and perhaps the caravan one as they too must use flooring.
Will have a look at the floatex as I haven't heard of it.

I had the same problem in my caravan with rugs. My solution was to coat the reverse of the rugs with the Carpetex (carpet adhesive and I guess it would be the NZ equivalent of Copydex) and let it dry. The rubbery film formed grabs at the carpet underneath and stops the rugs creeping.
We use a big sheet of that non-slip rubber mat (you know the stuff that you can use on dashboards etc) between our rug and the carpet by our patio doors. It seems to do the trick there, stopping the rug creeping around the room. May be worth a try if you've got some.
Some good suggestions folks,
The laminate would be a bit inflexible to fit around some of the awkward spots on the floor of the camper. Maybe a decent quality vynyl flooring though ??
That sheet of mat we tried and I think because of the 'pile' if the carpet going in one direction the rubber 'stuff' walked as well !!
After we tried the velcro strip that ruined our carpet with the glue, we rang the suppliers and they agreed that the stuff was useless !! They suggested as Alan did a spray adhesice on the back of the rugs !! Too late though the main carpet is totally ruined !!!!
