Hi all,  I was about to sling our old leaking airbeds, but then thought of a new use for them.  I've split them along the seams and opened them out to use as ground sheets under the tent.  Should provide a bit of extra insulation and prevent the underside of the tent getting dirty. 

I have just purchased an old trailer tent and the storage cover has a few holes in it.

I shall slit the old double airbed to make a 6 foot x 9 foot rubber cover to go under the one with holes !

Mine is cloth covered rubber (about 20 years old).

I can not see how they could be air tight and not watertight !

We've been using this idea for many years as the groundsheet for our caravan awning on hardstanding pitches. Its so good I've been trying to locate a supplier of the material to make a one piece version. No luck as yet.

These are the red and blue airbeds made from rubberised cotton. Strong and waterproof and also pleasant on the feet (coloured side up). Easy to keep clean too.

Just got around to looking at my replies.  More than I thought!  Yes our air bed are waterproof.  They are the Camping Gaz type - plastic with flocking.  So the flocking will soak up a bit of moisture but if it's placed flock side up (rather than facing the ground ) it should be ok.  (That was my thinking anyway!)
