Hi, does anybody have a memory foam mattress? I am looking for onr for the caravan as the converted bed is not that comfy. have looked at quite a few but they range in price from £80-£150 for a double. Any ideas ?
For what it's worth, I went through the trials of choosing a new bed for home earlier this year. We liked the idea of a Tempur bed (foot thick foam) but the £1800 cost was a bit prohibitive for a king size! We settled for a 'topper' mattress, where the top 3 inches of the mattress is foam, the rest pocket sprung. This certainly does the job very well, at less than half the cost of a Tempur.
The best bit of advice we had was that full foam mattresses, by the nature of their materials, mean that you get extremely hot at night. So the topper is a good compromise. Something like this might do the trick.
I have a full foam mattress, its made by Relaxsan and I love it! It is by far the most comfy bed I have ever slept in and anyone who has slept in my bed (when I have been away ofcourse) has commented on how nice it is.
I havent noticed getting hot at night, mine has a winter and a summer side. Extra thick padding on one side and thinner on the other.
I've tried mattress toppers on regular bed and if you get a decent thick one, they are a good compromise!!
There are several companies in the Dewsbury/Cleckheaton area that produce and sell memory foam. I seem to think that they advertise in the C&CC magazine and I would think in the CC magazine as well.
I have heard some good reports comfort wise when used in caravans and trailors.

------------- Some people have nothing much to say, but you often have to listen for a while before you realise it!
Hi, I tried one during the last holiday in the van ( 6 weeks ), I think they are marvellous, slept for much longer than normal and none of the usual aches and pains. I bought mine at Dunelm. Very pleased with it.
