Advise please. I also have a black base cobb but I can't remove the inner bowl which makes it difficult to clean. Does your bowl come out?
Reg
Hi Reg.
I assume you are talking about the black plastic inner bowl with the heat resistant disk on it, this does come out but it can be a bit of a sod to get back in. I don't usually remove it just give it a wipe.
It's the actual steel bowl with the juice well at the bottom. It just will not come out, seems to be clipped under the top outer rim. Guess I'll just have to keep laying the whole Cobb on its side to clean it. Bit of a pain, but I've been doing it for 2/3 years now. Great piece of kit though.
I think yours must be a bit wonky !! They usually just rest on the rubber bits on the base and come out really easy. They are designed to come apart, for cleaning and can be put in a dishwasher (if only I had one!) If the rubber bits are missing and the bowl has dropped down inside the base, I would be careful as it might overheat. It might be worth E-Mailing INFO at COBB.CO.UK and checking with them, they are very helpful.
Cobb has arrived (many thanks, dobiesmon). Just one little question; should there be a 'lifting fork' in the package? It's stated in the brochure, but not in box.. Wonder if it is still sitting somewhere at Lakeland? (Do you use this fork to lift the 'grill grid' off?)
I've been in touch with Cobb UK and turns out mine is an early model which dosen't come apart for cleaning which makes it pre 2001/2. As I bought it new for under £40 3yrs ago from a local shop who had 2 surplus to requirements, I should'nt moan as it cooks perfectly. Regards, Reg
Hi Liddenham
So glad it has arrived yes it should have a pronged thing to lift off the grill , I will pop in to Lakeland and ask but you can get them from cobb on line along with the other bits ie cooking rack and fry/wok set .
