Does anyone out there know anything about the portable solar panels you can buy. We were told about them by a couple we met and wondered if you could use one in a tent and what eqipment you need etc. They said they had seen campers using them and we thought it would be a good idea when theres no EHU
There have been some previous threads about these, have you tried the search facility, just type in solar panel and I'm sure lots of information will come up for you
Hi, you really need aa battery and then use the solar panel to keep it topped up, A solar panel solely to power your equipment would need to give a high wattage output and would be quite expensive.
------------- Doing as little as possible for as much as possible...
yeah a solar panel willl not be able to power devices directly unless it was huge and cost a fortune. but you can use a solar panel to keep a battery topped up.
I use a small solar panel just to keep my battery topped up, whilst im not using it, but you would need a very large panel to replace electric hook up surely.
my panel would not replace the power used, it only supplies a very small trickle charge.
------------- "PACESETTERS" German Shepherd dog display team, we are out and about raising money for guide dogs.
Thanks for your help everyone. Dont think Ill bother with one its more complicated than I thought and I dont fancy using a leisure battery under canvas.
