I will be taking my young baby camping for the first time this summer.  She'll be about 10 months when we first take her.  Not sure where to seat her.  Got no room for her highchair as trailer will already be full.  What do other members do.  My older daughter was 2 when we first took her and we just propped her up on pillows!

What about something similar to this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GLTC-PORTABLE-POCKET-TRAVEL-BABY-HIGH-CHAIR-HIGHCHAIR_W0QQitemZ230080016403QQihZ013QQcategoryZ2986QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I put in 'travel high chair' as a search on ebay and found loads!

Good luck!

Have you looked at the Antilop  plastic high chairs you can get from Ikea, the ones they use in their cafes?

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=7&langId=-20&catalogId=10103&productId=53018

You can buy a clip on tray for another £2 or so. Very sturdy design, washes clean under a tap and best of all the four legs unclip so that you end up with the shaped plastic seat section (right size to hold the gas bottle), legs and flat tray.

I took one for my kids and it really doesn`t take up a lot of room. It`s just the right height for a child to sit at a camp table (use the tray anyway) and I found it invaluable for parking the baby in with a few toys or crayons while I cooked or whatever. The strap on ones are fine for most chairs but a folding camp chair is far to light for them and will tip in an instant, alas. I ended up using the Antilop in the house as well because I liked it far better than my bulky house one.

Hello

in Mothercare they sell a seat that you strap to a seat, it has a harness and is very sturdy.  We first brought it for taking on the plane in the suitcase as it very very small ( so ideal for craming in the car with all the other camping gear) , but as we now have three children we can only afford camping holidays !

we found that you could either use it on the floor or attach it to a straight backed camping chair. I think it cost about £20 quid and has lasted us many a holiday.

Must admit never went for the pushchair idea as the food always got spread about and made it look awful.

I think the plastic booster type higchairs that strap to a seat are a great idea, they can be dismantled for easy transportation, they have a clip on tray and are made soley of plastic so are easy to clean, I no argos used to stock them im sure they still do and they are a very good price.

Another fan here of the IKEA highchair - I would suggest that they take slightly less room than the booster seats to go on chairs - and anyway, would you realistically have a chair sturdy enough to attach the booster seat to safely?

Always used our IKEA one at home too - VERY easy to keep clean (even goes in the dishwasher!) as there are no 'corners' for food to get trapped in.

Also liked the height as, without the the optional tray, the highchair can tuck under a normal height table, so the child gets to sit 'at the table' with the rest of the family.

we just used a plastic booster seat for our two which we strapped to a picnic table. However, I saw this on the mothercare website which I thought looked clever.
