Got the campinggaz one here to very good, have got a Thetford Portta Potti 365 in the sales over the winter. Benefits with this one is its the same height as the loo at your house, has a bigger 21 litre waste tank and has a indicator to tell you when it requires emptying.
Thanks for your replies. I think we are heading towards the PP 365. Any cheap prices out there? Don't really fancy a secondhand one. How environmentally unfriendly are all the chemicals? Can you buy an ECOVER type product that is bio-degradable?
Hi Benski, one of the cheapest I can find is for £74.99 below, we got ours here in the winter sales. The Aquachem Green is a biological degrader and not a chemical one according to the website and has one several ecological friendly awards.
If you search on Ebay at the moment there are few 365 for sale going for good prices. Other places to look are in the freeads you see them there sometimes.
We just invested in one of these. Cant beat it for price. Ideal for a wee in the middle of the night, especially after several beers or the odd bottle of wine.
Available fromRiversway Leisure in Preston.
Fiamma Bi-Pot 30
New compact portable toilet, perfect for storing in tiny spaces such as compartment lockers. Convenient flush of fresh water, without separating the tanks. Air valve, inserted into the waste cap. Super strong, supports twice as much weight as other brands because the tanks are not welded (no insinuations please!). Ideal for camper vans, trailer tents, folding campers and camping holidays.
Colour: Pearl Lower Tank capacity: 11 Litres Dimensions cm: 43.5L x34.5W x 30H Weight: 4.1kg £36.95 Qty
Hi Benski the Bi-pot will also have two tanks, one for waste and one for flushing, most of the porta toilets would have these tanks. The PP mentioned above has double the waste tank of the model above, bi pot 11litres waste, PP 365 21 litres of waste. Also the PP has a swivel tube located underneath for emptying of the waste tank. When cap removed tank can only be emptyied with the push and constant depress of a button, to stop that splash back as often happens with other units. Also the waster tank flap cannot be accidentally opened when seperated from the top tank. The Bi Pot 30 is identical in capacities as the Campinggaz unit in your original question.
Thanks Rick & Mel. So, the PP does seem to be better than the other two - hence it being a bit more expensive. Don't fancy the risk of "splash back".... or should I say I don't fancy DH having to face the risk of "splash back". I don't mind spending a bit extra - you get what you pay for (usually).
If you are not in a hurry, keep looking at the lidls website, as each year they sell the thetford porta loo, around March/April time. We bought ours for £30! and it came with two travel bottles of rinse.cleaning fluid, that tucks into its special slot, under the loo. There is enough space for the rubber gloves too!
It is the smallest one Thetford make, but it fits into our roof box fantastically!
I recommend using a round plastic BBQ cover (Ours was £2.99 from Tesco) to put over it, great for hiding it away, waterproof and great for transportation.
