Cobb runs off charcoal - although the heat beads are best, think they are more compacted certainly last a lot longer than 'normal' charcoal.  i can honestly say though i have never noiced a smell from the heat beads on food, and we have tried almost everything on our cobb.

There are lots of different specifcation levels for the Cobb: Examples:
Cobb Premier Combo Super £170
Cobb Premier Combo++       £160
Cobb Premier Combo+          £140
Cobb Premier Set++              £120
Cobb Premier Set+                £100
Cobb Premier Set                 £95
Cobb Premier                        £80

So, is it worth paying more than the standard BBQ oven at £80? Are the other accessories worthwhile? Assuming I already have a 2 burner petrol stove.

We've got the basic cobb and the roasting rack, and that does us fine, we use our normal tefal deep frying pan with a lid for currys/chilli directly on top of the fire basket and also the kettle as well, so dont see the point of any extra stuff just to use it only on the cobb.
