OK, we had decided we were buying the Brenderup 1205 with hard top BUT in my shopping around today I spoke to a dealer who said that he would recommend one of the "light commercial" Daxaras over the Brenderup.
I'm looking at the Daxara 198, which is a touch smaller than the Brenderup (but perhaps a little deeper), has 13 inch wheels (that's a must as we're upgrading), they do an ABS hardtop and it looks pretty good on paper. The big advantage over the Brenderup is that they do load bars to go on to lid for bikes etc whereas that's not possible on the Brenderup.
Dont know much about the Brenderup but I have a Daxara 158 and I think its a great piece of kit. When I was looking for a trailer I took advice from others who said that an A bar as opposed to a straight bar is essential and the 13 inch wheels is also essentail if doing anything other than local mileage. I was comparing the Daxara to the Erde and while they are made by the same company I would say that the Daxara is a much better quality unit sadly manifest in the weight as I have to store it upright in my garage.
Hi Piglet, We have a Daxara 158 trailer here also one of the light commercial trailer range. Made by the same company as the popular Erde, have ABS hardtop and extender sides here. Trailer is great but like all trailers needs looking after, especially wheel bearings. Daxara also do load bars for the lid, easily fitted and could then take bikes or roofbox. Spares for Daxara trailer are easily obtainable, a complete set of bearings and seals for ours was around £40 so not expensive.
Have ventured a little further in readines for the new season and had some bars made for the trailer so that I can mount the roofbox on the trailer rather than on the car. I am sure that I am keeping to the axle weight but looking at where exactly I should mount the bars to keep the trailer in balance.
Have had to curtail our visits this year as I am very busy with the Scout Group and we are in the final process of our visit to Brownsea Island off Poole 100 years after Baden Powell. Had budgetted for 30 in the visit and I now have 61 so skipping between this site and minibus hire at the moment.
Will be visiting Cornwall twice and one visit to the Peak District and one visit to Whitehaven so the trailer will put in a fe miles this year again.
Have a look on Ebay if you decide upon a daxara, there are two E-shops that sell new units, one is in exeter I think (Wilstows) and another is in Bury St Edmunds. there are not that many dealers unless you have found one more local

Nigel
Indespension are Daxara dealers and they have branches all over the place.
Bridgwater trailers (in Bridgwater!) stock the bigger Daxaras but I'm not sure when I'm going to manage to get there and as OH is working weekends one of us is going to have to make the buying decision alone!
I liked the Brenderup when I saw it (Honeyfield Trailers in Bristol), the two negatives for it were the lack of roofbar option and that I think (unless someone can tell me otherwise) that it isn't as deep as the Daxaras (40cm).
So the Daxara wins on those two fronts, I'm slightly concerned that if we want to sell it on at any point the Brenderup might have a better resale value?
i remember a thread on here a whie back when someone was having all sorts of problems with a brenderup which went rusty in next to no time and I was a bit put off by that
