Hi marlhole and congratulations on your new trailer. Now beware of the camping shops, as now you will see even more must have gear you think you can get in the trailer, believe me. Ours is so full already.

Enjoy.

Well done and enjoy.
We bought our second hand trailer last year and it makes a big difference to the amount of gear we can take.
We now have room for the kitchen sink!

Hi marlhole, a little advice, make sure that the wheel bearings are well maintained, greased, as this is a job some people forget to do.

If poss through the winter take your lighting board off and take it indooors or put in the shed so as to stop the terminals eroding around the light bulbs.

Does the trailer have a safety cable or chain fiited ? worth a thought if only for piece of mind.

At least now you wont have to sit the kids on the sleeping bags anymore

The bigger the trailer the more you will take with you. My first trailer was to small so I built one 5ft long 3ft wide and 2ft deep and still filled it, ended up putting an old roof rack on the hinged lid so we could take even more with us. Maybe I should have built it 6 ft x 4 ft x 3 ft or even bigger??

As said before worth checking the bearings. Take it for a run and feel the hubs - if they're warm it indicates that either they need regreasing or new bearings. Worth doing anyway and doesn't take long. Also check that there is no play in the hitch - if so change it. Then add a lid extension, then add a roof-rack to the lid, then add a roof box, then buy a bigger trailer. Trailers are like wormholes - they suck things in until they are full!
