I'm about to buy some air beds and on reccomendations of brilliant ukcampsite forums have been directed towards coleman comfort.
However, before buying,i've seen the camping gaz range and they come with pillows which i thought would be great as it saves room/buying seperate pillows for everyone and less hassle.(There are 5 of us)
BUT i don't want to buy them if the coleman ones are soo much more comfy for a good nights sleep.
Has anyone got the camping gaz air beds and if so are they as good as the coleman ones??
we have the camping gaz double mattress with pillows.
It has a coils structure and the air spreads evenly but not in two completely independent sections, which i believe is the main feature of the colemans.
We take ordinary pillows (we like lots) and find the inflated pillow bit very useful for stopping them sliding off the end. Also there is a useful compartment for storing stuff underneath the pillow.
i chose the camping gaz bed because of the pillows and the very secure closure ( a previous experience of accidentally knocking the bung out in the middle of the night made me realise how important that is!) and we have the matching rechargeable pump which i am also delighted with.
We are extremely happy with our bed and i am not at all tempted to change it.
to be fair.. i havn't tried a coleman, so can't compare, but i do enthuse a lot about my camping gaz bed :)
If its a single it does not matter ,if its a double it would have to be the comfort ,they are unique because they are infact 2 simgle air beds joined by a channel of air around the outside ,so you get no roll or disturbance everytime the other person moves ,also stops that wishy washy sea sickness feeling!
Im afraid as so rightly pointed out by Skatty, the colemans unique comfort double airbed is on its own, nothing as far as we have tried compares with it and we have tried a lot of other airbeds before getting the coleman on the recommendation of the members of this forum.
I have the coleman comfort and love it! wouldn't consider anything else, it's soo comfortable and as mentioned before in previous threads it has no roll together and each side can be inflated to sleepers own preference, would highly reccomend
------------- life is like a box of chocolates you never no what your gonna get
Another vote for the Coleman; they are guaranteed leak-proof and we wouldn't have anything else, now (been there, done that, ended up on the floor in the middle of the night! )
All I can say is taht as a retailer when they first introduced them I though they'll never sell at twice the price of a normal airbed.....well what do I know?? I sell about 300 a year get maybe as low as 3 back and every customer says they are great just like the happy people oin this thread.
Worth the investment is what my customers say to me
I love our Coleman Comfort - I have lumbar problems and it gives me a better night's sleep than many hotel beds I have tried over the years. I am sure that the Campingaz one has a similar internal coil structure, but the 2 separate chambers eliminate the seasick effects when one of you moves, and we can have each side inflated to our own preference.
Also, I have had airbeds with a built in pillow before and found them uncomfortable as the pillow (obviously) does not move with me as I move around in my sleep.
