Sorry, I know I may be asking too much-can anyone recommend a double bed that is off the floor?Had a problem with beetles last year on first ever trip& would feel more relaxed if I were off the floor this year!!(esp as one of the beetles found itsway to my sleeping bag -not an experience I want to repeat!!!!)Thank you.
Dependent on the space you have in your tent, you could try a 'Coleman Comfort' double height airbed. That would put you about 16" (40 cm.) off the floor (they cost about £50)...
Or, you could get a couple of 'X' leg cots (£25 each) and strap them together with 'cable ties' and put a double airbed on top (it works O.K.... I've tried it!)...
So, both of the above remedies to the beetle problem, would cost about £50. Which is cheap, if you get a good sleep every night... Failing that, keep the 'mesh door' to the sleeping pod closed and keep the 'beasties' out in the first place!...
Anyway, good luck with your second seasons camping, lets hope this year is beastie free!...
we have the coleman comfort double height bed i would really recommend it and it is so comfy it has micro-coils in it so u don't get the roll 2gether like the other air beds we paid £59.95 for ours at our local camping shop
we had 3 of the intex ones and they were not as good as the coleman,1 had a leak, second one seam popped third also a small pucture definitley wld go for the coleman comfort
Don't want to be a party pooper, but beetles can climb up whatever you choose to sleep on! Just make sure you keep the bedroom zipped up except when going in and out (of course...) and that will minimise beastie invasions.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to answer -will definitely look in to all the suggestions & of course keep the mesh zipped up!!Nearly had a fit last year if one of the children would forget to zip my pod up(they don't mind crawlies so they were relaxed about their own!)Mine was only open once-theirs was open all day ,every day-guess which pod the beetles went into?!!Yup-not even one in theirs !Yet in the space of 2 hours out of a whole week they cleverly organized a military operation into mine!!AARRGGGHH!!!!

You know, I'm sure I remember a recent post which advised where you can get the Coleman Double High for something like £29.99.
I have the coleman comfort double height air bed it's fantastic soo comfy and as mentioned in previous threads it has micro coils so no roll together you can get it for under 30 pounds from bestbuys might be worth a look at their website. or click on the link in liddenham's post and it will take u straight to their web page.
