I got a 1200 Watt halogen heater because I was worried about tripping the EHU with anything more powerful, & it's OK. If you shop around they're only about £12.

For lighting, I found stuff from camping shops/sites both expensive & dim. Bought a couple of bulkhead lights from B&Q with 60w bulbs, some cable and a weatherproof/shockproof plug. Result, loads of light, bulkheads can be clipped onto poles inside or outside tent for reading.

There's a downside though with all this light - don't get between the light and close to the tent sides when undressing - it's a hell of a shadow show my friends tell me!

I opted for the woolies light at £2.99 with an energy saving bulb and a cracking blow heater for £9.99 in Argos. The heater has two settings 1000,2000 watt, a thermostat, a cold fan and a safety cut out.

Thanks for all the replies
