I'm thinking about buying a rechargeable LED lantern.  Argos has a 30 LED one with 12v and 240 mains for approx £35.  Has anyone got one?  Are they any good?  Can you buy them cheaper anywhere else?

Cheers!

We have one I love it husband hates it, it is an unusual light fine if you are sat around having a drink but not good enough to read by.

We have one too....and it's rubbish....! We don't even bother taking it with us now as it just takes up space...! This would go down as our worst ever camping buy...!

Not rechargeable, but check these out on Ebay:

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5232-2978-1/1?AID=9479574&PID=1428744&mpre=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/24-LED-Functional-Portable-Camping-Lamp-White-Light-Z_W0QQitemZ130095137924QQcategoryZ36112QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I bought two just because they were so cheap I could deal with the disappointment - but they're really bright.

Batteries last ages, & the best thing is that they take up so much less space than regular lamps. They also come with a little widget that allows tham to be hung from things.

Have you realised how long those rechargable lamps take to recharge and where are you going to recharge it....buy a gas lamp, they're a great piece of kit and cheap to run...

We have mains/rechargeable if EHUs trip or power cuts we switch to the rechargeable batteries.

If we use at night we recharge during the day,the type we bought from go-outdoors charge the batteries while using at night. They have 2 striplights so you can use full or half power.

Not really into gas lighting, more for safety reasons also packing the glass, break it and you are without a light. I know 1000s of camper use them, just a personal veiw.
