In terms of 'fitness for purpose' I have no hesitation in saying that the pett system is the best. Very compact to transport, stable in use, hygienic and discreet in the tent, easiest and most convenient for disposal/emptying.
But it is far and away the most expensive both in terms of initial outlay and running costs. Good design does not come cheap! We traded up to a pett from a porta potti and think it is brilliant, but it is a luxury. The running costs would be hard to justify for a family I think, for whom a portapotti might be a much better bet if you've got the car space to transport it. MT
