According to Meteo France the weather here in southern Brittany is going to become wet and windy from the end of the week, so I've had a look to see where we can move to for some better weather. Apart from odd days in the south west, the next 2 weeks are forecast to be wet across the whole of France.
Looks like the UK weather is moving down into France!

I hope it will move to France and stay there (sorry Bofs)
Ditto
.... well I want it to leave the UK, and I'm not in France (should have been right now, but had to cancel, so if weather bad there, it feels a little less galling not to be there!)
I want to get away in UK, but the dreadful weather has deterred me so far. Me and soggy dog moping around in the van day after day in perpetual cold and rain really isn't my idea of enjoying myself, and having to pay quite dearly for the privilege just adds insult to injury! I like to be 'outdoors', so not knowingly going on holiday to visit 'indoor' places to keep out of the bad weather!
Bofs, France is a big place, sure you can hunt down a bit of better weather. .... hoping you do.
It’s been lovely up here in west Scotland - hot & sunny Saturday, gardened outside yesterday, didn’t need a coat to walk the dog today, plants wilting - even the wild raspberry bushes are going yellow from lack of rain. A bit windy, I’ll admit - great for drying the laundry!

That's as good a definition as any for lovely weather in Scotland - I didnae have to wear a coat

So not France then.
Wind is still quite biting.
34 in Macon today, lovely.

As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I wouldn't get too smug Fiona, you're about to dip into single figures and struggle into low double figures in coming days!
Back down here in the big smoke, which is generally immune to weather, we have our own microclimate, it's been BLOODY COLD in the north/north east wind, even when bright and sunny the wind gets you!

We're in the Loire Valley at the moment, and found the same forecast ok up to about Friday, but after that 😔
They never get the forecast right though, so hopefully it won't be quite as bad as is forecast
We're moving a bit further south, then the plan was Burgundy, but who knows?
Just go with the flow. Last year Dordogne late Aug it was 38 deg for a while. We had a pitch with sun in morning & shade after 3 pm. All we could do was go to pool at about 10pm & play musical sunbeds keeping under shade of the big square parasols provided as the sun moved along with regular dips until 3pm when we could go back to our now shady pitch for some dinner.
So right now at Montalivet on coast near Bordeaux we are absolutely fine sitting out in the sunny cloudy 20 deg heat.
I stopped worrying about the weather several decades ago when I gave up canvas over my head for something more solid.
We are in Normandie at the moment wet with thunder this morning, now cleared but only 17 degrees. Yesterday was the same wet in the morning without thunder then a nice afternoon and evening.
Definitely cooler than last year.
C' est la vie!

We're in Roquebrune-sur-Argens. It's been a fabulous 29 degrees today and is still 23 degrees now, at 9:33pm. Meteo predicts high 20s all week then 30 - 33 next week.
We've been in the Ardèche, where temperatures were much lower and the weather generally more unsettled than usual for this time of year.
