We're due to travel to Cherbourg tomorrow and received a message today from BF to say that due to work taking place at the port of Cherbourg they are experiencing some delays with vehicles passing through border control.
Just wondered whether anyone knows anything about this - I've had a look online but can find no mention of anything.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Unfortunately it's not one of those things you can change, and at this time of year I wouldn't have thought any delays would be significant, so just enjoy your holiday. Or is this just a 'Caravan Service' visit - in which case I hope all is well.
We came over mid April and had that message - everything was as normal with some roadworks on the port itself - they're messing about with the check-in lines and kicks again. No delay.
Well, the delays BF warned us about were minimal - took us about 15 mins from disembarking the ferry to leaving the port, and that's with the foot passenger bus pushing in to the front of our line. I guess BF are covering themselves, just in case.

Thanks Val, you were absolutely right about the insignificant delays.
This is definitely a holiday (7 weeks) with the added bonus of a caravan service towards the end of May.
We find out where Kris and Alydia are going to be while we're away and pick an area we'd like to go to for meeting up with them. So far we've done the Dordogne and Normandy, and this time it's Deux Sevres.
