I'm looking to change my mobile provider, as Plusnet, who I am with at the moment, has decided they are no longer going to provide this service.
My current plan is 7GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts and EU roaming for no extra charge, for £7.50 a month, using the EE network.
I would like something similar (don't need any more data, but probably a minimum of 4GB) but it must have the roaming included as we generally spend several weeks at a time holidaying in the EU.
I have seen various options online, but would welcome personal recommendations.

Used to be with Vodafone and they were a shower, kept buggering up my automatically paid 'pay monthly' account, then demanding payment for unpaid bills whilst denying me a way to do so other than phoning them and paying each month by credit card! They never did sort the problem or refund me for overpayment by time I bailed out on them! Been keen to avoid them ever since!
Been with Tesco Mobile (on O2 network) for a few years now and have no complaints, and issues/queries have been quickly sorted with customer services seemingly based in UK and speaking English (as opposed to something like pidgeon English in a unintelligible foreign accent!). They have been doing cost free roaming up to end of this year, guess that means it may change for the future! The data/call/text deals seem to be well priced, and the O2 network has by and large given me few problems other than the odd 'not spot' that all networks seem to suffer. Have heard that the data rate through Tesco can be slower than direct through O2 , but as a very low data user, not a problem for me.
Smarty has been good for me, was with Asda but they moved to Vodaphone and their service is non existant out in the sticks where we are. Smarty rolling month and you can change/add on extras as you need. They have a £6 plan with 5bg data. Porting to them was easy aswell.

We switched from Sky just recently because it charges £2 a day for roaming. Used USwitch to change to ID mobile £8 a month for unlimited calls and texts and 30gb data. Couldn’t be happier. Just back from 3 weeks in France and worked perfectly mostly using the Free network. I expected to use a lot of data abroad for using the radio etc but only got through 3gb so might reduce that limit to make it even cheaper (unused data rolls over to the next month so currently got 57gb). Monthly contract too so no long term commitment.
Also was surprised that for the majority of the time even out in the country it was connected to 5g. That hardly happens in our part of the UK
Can't comment on packages, sorry, however, when I was in France earlier this year, EE on my phone and Smarty (3) on my Mi-Fi had good coverage in the area around Bayeux.
Coverage can vary from one network to the next though depending on the locations etc...

We both moved from Plusnet and did a search on USwitch. Neither of us needs a great deal of data, but one of our criteria was European roaming. I went with Virgin (on O2) and my husband with Talk mobile. Both of us pay around £6 a month for around 5 gb data. Virgin also roll over unused data.

I used EE roaming in September this year and it was £15 per month. But I then had a text msg from them whilst touring that it eas increasing to £25 per month in October. I soon cancelled the roaming add on. I thought that increase was extortionate.
