Years ago we bought headlight deflectors that clip on over the lights rather than getting the sticky ones but I can’t remember where we bought them. Has anyone bought anything like this or got any idea where I can get them from?
It’s for a Land Rover discovery 04 plate.
Thanks

Is such a thing still made, I for one have never seen them in years.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
That's the stick on ones and not what the OP is looking for.

The OP is looking for headlamp protectors as opposed to stick on headlight beam deflectors to avoid the sticky residue on the headlamp glass.
According to the law, (you must not dazzle oncoming drivers),even if you don't drive at night dipped headlights are required in reduced visibility conditions but I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for non compliance.

I have not fitted deflectors for probably 30 years. My understanding of the law, correct me if I am wrong, is that your lights should not dazzle on-coming traffic, nothing about the direction of dip.
If your headlights dip to the left, as most UK cars do, then it is possible to dazzle oncoming drivers when you are driving on the right, so you can still break the law.
I don't think anyone has mentioned that it is just the dipped position it is just that if they are dipped they can still dazzle.

Not sure, but don't think an 04 Discovery has that function.

I used to use a couple of bits of pvc tape to mask out the offending area. Having just got a motor where it’s needed, it’s what I’ll be doing this year.
Chapter and verse here on the Pros and Cons of various methods of beam deflection/blocking and legalities, albeit with perhaps a bias towards the product being sold by the web site owners! http://www.travelspot.co.uk/faq.html#tape
I for one will NOT gamble for the sake of around £6 on proper beam deflectors, with either damaging the plastic lenses on my headlights (around £500 to replace on my car! - or if discoloured/cracked etc. potential MOT failure, and then new lamps required anyway!) or up to a 200 Euro on the spot fine if stopped by the police whilst on the continent. I'm all for economies, but penny-pinching too far can backfire!
I've used, as have friends, the Eurolight type deflectors for years on a succession of different cars, and they have never been a problem, save occasionally needing a little white spirit to remove residual adhesive after removal.
Googling "Car headlamp lens covers" seems to bring up a few results in answer to OP.
There are some Landrover Discover (1999 to 2004) Headlamp Protectors/Deflectors available on ebay for £24.99 plus postage. I just tried to post a link but it wasn't accepted.
