Does anyone now if I will need a Crit Air sticker if I'm travelling through Rouen enroute to the Dordogne next summer?

In Rouen, all vehicles displaying a Crit'Air 4, 5 or non-classified sticker have been banned from 1 September 2022. Tolerance is granted to motorised two-wheelers, tricycles and quadricycles until 31 August 2023. The ban is due to apply to Crit'Air 3 cars from 1 January 2025. In addition, additional traffic restrictions may apply during pollution peaks. Traffic restrictions will only apply in urban areas where pollutant thresholds are exceeded. The following cities, known as "vigilance territories", are therefore no longer subject to these new restrictions (Crit'Air 3).        source Explore France .com

It is so cheap to get a Crit'Air sticker and it will take out all the worry

Less than €5 from the official French Goverment website took about 10 days to come through.

With more areas scheduled to join the scheme it seems a no-brainer to me to get one.

There are many areas that require one in the right(wrong?) weather conditions, not just cities such as Rouen. As others have said it is just easier to buy one, but make sure you use the official government website and not one of the scams.

If you start from Caen ferryport it’s 150 miles shorter to the Dordogne than it is from Calais- and goes nowhere near Rouen.

Can't stand ferries, I definitely do not have any sea legs!🤢 I'd rather do the extra miles!

This might help you decide if you are intending to travel through a controlled area of Rouen: https://zfe.metropole-rouen-normandie.fr/

But as others have pointed out, for around £4 including post to UK, it's a real no brainer just to get a Crit'air sticker and not have ANY concerns if you stray off 'safe' routes.

The official French Crit'air web site has an English language version and is no great challenge to fill in the form and upload copies of required documents. My sticker turned up in about 10 days. It's valid for life of the car to which it applies. https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/

The Crit'air zones are becoming more common, and from what I recall from when I applied last year, almost anywhere can have a temporary 'pop-up' zone imposed if pollution levels are deemed too high by local authority, so not just a case of avoiding the fixed zones! Got my sticker because although no intentions of venturing into a fixed zone, there was a small risk of getting caught up in a temporary 'pop-up' zone in some of the larger towns on our route, and a deviation to avoid would have been a right PITA and no doubt cost more in extra fuel than the cost of the sticker!

Everbody is saying get a crit air sticker BUT a lot depends on the age of the vehicle, to come off the through route through Rouen it has to be a crit 2 sticker. I have a crit air sticker for my MH and it is crit 4, as much use as a chocolate fireguard

Ordered mine today; Halifax card has been charged £3.96!
You will need to supply, in addition to numberplate, the chassis number, Euro number, and quoted CO2 level; had to do a bit of rummaging to find these, but otherwise very easy bit of form filling. I’ll let you know when it arrives.
