Don't forget 4Vents is relatively quiet which in fact is nice for kids to play around and especially that is also has rather large pitches (at least the part where I was pitched).

Right made my mind up - 4 Vents it is! Emailed the campsite and got a reply a few hours later letting me know there was one pitch for my dates left! He is sending me the brochure and paperwork in the post. Great service so far...

Will write a review when I return in early September. I'm really looking forward to it now, so thanks for the suggestions of things to do. I think we'll break the Disney trips up throughout the week so all the excitement isn't lost in the first couple of days!

Great advice about getting the train in to Paris - didn't fancy driving in and parking all day - it's bad enough in our busy Capital, but I reckon Paris could be worse, especially when you don't know where you're exactly going!

Think I might take the bikes as well as the site is in a rural setting - should be able to reach some local villages/towns okay, shouldn't we?

Thanks again to everyone.

The area is flat enough for bikes, but keep in mind that the french roads are not really built for bikers. Going more to the Fontainebleau area and past that you will encounter more hills. And you will need to buy a good local map to be able to choose the smallest and more quiet countryroads. The 'provincial routes' (larger two lane roads) are certainly not nice with bicycles.

It's only a short drive to Reims or Epernay to sample and buy champagne.  This is the Champagne region.  When we were there last (6 yrs ago) we drove around until we found a cellar, visited and came away with 2 bottles of the best champagne we've ever tasted!

Reims iis nearly 100 miles from Disneyland!
