We used our Tesco vouchers to pay almost all of our 2 week holiday to France - booked with Siblu so tunnel crossing and campsite all in (£100 gave us £400 of vouchers and only had to put a small amount of cash to pay balance) well worth it - just hoping the weather improves now!

RSM you don't say where you are based currently but we live in the north.  The ferry from Hull previously had been an unacceptable expence when taken against the cost of Dover - Calais or the distance to travel at the far end when landing at either Caen or St Malo.  Needless to say the Tesco points have decreased our drive in the UK allowing a slightly  longer journey in Europe on a Sunday.

Hi Penine Plodder

We're based SW Scotland. We didnt know about the voucher system till yesterday. Cant help us for this year but next year we will use it to full potential. We want to go back to Germany next year. It will be nice to see it as a tourist. So the vouchers will help with the crossing.

Thanks for the info too.

It was easy to pay for the Eurotunnel.  The price was the same as the price's on the web.

Changed the vouchers on the tesco website ang got them back in 2 days.

Had a look on the Eurotunnel site to see what times available then gave them a ring confirmed the times ect.  I think they have to recieve your vouchers in 3 days.  Sent of the vouchers and got a conformation  back in a couple of days.

We paid for all of our travel in vouchers, but if you only have say £50 and the total is £100 you can just pay the difference so a bargin

Hope you get sorted

Really?

Last time we did this, we ended up paying something horrendous (around £700 for car and caravan, but it was some years ago so maybe cheaper now) and had to use years and years worth of the flaming Tesco vouchers!

We've been paying for it outright, since, as thought we got more value for money from other Tesco offers.

So, can you just choose crossing tariff from the web? Thought you had to ring a special number for bookings with Tesco vouchers though?

To really rack up the tescos points do your shopping online at least once a month - you can usually get a voucher worth at least an extra 500 points.

If you are a wine drinker there are even more vouchers for using the Tesco Wine Club. In the last Tesco wine sale I bought 24 bottles of £7 wine for £101 and got free delivery and 1000 points (worth £40 off the ferry) - bargain! Unfortunately as I don't drink much it'll be a long time before I can justify buying any more.

If you have a baby sign up to the Baby club as you get more points on baby related stuff as well.

The price you see on the Eurotunnel web site is the price you pay when you ring .

You do have to phone to book but ours was as Ronnie has said, for the last 2 years we have paid for our tunnel crossing this way and just paid the price as stated on the website. I always get the web page up and sit in front of the PC while on the phone to them just in case.

Sorry but who or what is Siblu, and how do the Tesco vouchers work for them?

Used my Tesco vouchers for a Siblu holiday last year & Eurotunnel this year, along with other things.

Great now you can get the vouchers online. Very quick service.
