As Val says just go into 'Book a ferry' and it will take you there.

Just a word of warning on this. CC web site booking form goes in caravan lengths, up to 6M, 7M and 8m lengths each one coming in at a different price. However Norfolk Line go in unit lengths, 12M 13M etc. So looking at my van which is 7.19M that would be charged in the 8M bracket. Now my car is 4.765M + 7.19M van = 11.955M. I have just booked this crossing 30 mins ago and was quoted £93 I then argued my case on the above principal and was requoted at £78. So if you do book then state your car length and van length then total length and if it comes in at under 12M state the Norfolk Line terms and you should get it at the £78 charge.

£78 a bargain and my multi trip insurance doen't expire until two days after we get back so no Red Pennant either. Also going to Germany so no tolls either. So a good cheap holiday next year.

Has anyone booked with Brittany Ferries yet? I'm advised that they have only published prices for travel up to the end of March next year........

2009 P&O Bilbao route fares have just sky rocketed. Almost double what they where a fortnight ago.

I just tried a quote from the Caravan Club for the Portsmouth/Bilbao route - and compared to P and O you could save £60.00 by booking through the Caravan Club - £570.00 for car and caravan, and two berth cabin, compared to £630 direct from P and O - so still a good deal.

Ive spoken today with Brittany ferries & another company for the Portsmouth - St Malo crossing for next August, they say that they won't be publishing a schedule with prices until early to mid Nov but I will check back next month just in case.  However, they estimate the price for my Smax with roofbox to be around £350 with a cabin as extra.

I think they must be hedging on fuel prices with the current uncertainty around financial markets. I'm assuming (although I don't know) that they purchase fuel in advance at a set price and this obviously has a direct impact on their prices and hence their margins. Oil is under $95 a barrel today compared to $115 at the beginning of the month. They might be holding on for further falls. But what do I know?

We have just booked Hull-Zeebrugge for next summer with the CC.   On P&O's website, it came to £650, but £493 on the CC site for exactly the same crossing - unbelievable!

Wow again - for us that saving would be more than enough to pay our site fees for the whole fortnight (with Camping Cheques/Touring Cheques/ACSI card all at around £11.00 per night).

Added later:  I can't believe how expensive the Hull/Zeebrugge crossing is - as a matter of interest I got a quote as we've talked about doing this route in the past and I was quoted £684 by the Caravan Club for each of our holidays - which is more than the cost of Portsmouth/Bilbao!   By doing Dover/Dunkerque we're saving a massive £606 each holiday!

Same here, £500 including caravan and all meals for 2 adults & 1 child this year, and anywhere from £700 to £900 next year.

We'll just have to hope the weather is better in the UK next summer!!

Are you travelling on a Saturday or Sunday?   On the P&O website, my fare would have been £1050 travelling a day earlier than I booked and returning a day earlier (both Fridays) but it went down to £650 travelling on a Saturday - then £493 on the CC website.   It's worth looking!   We paid £750 last year for the same weekend (last of July) but that was for a Club Class cabin (those were the days when you could use Tesco vouchers - we're in Premier this year now we're paying cash!).
