We went with Eurocamp in our pre-caravan days. Found them very good. Went with our caravan, used Carefree (C & C C), also very good & cheaper than Eurocamp Independent.

I've got this years Carefree, Eurocamp Independent & Sites Abroad brochures if you want them.

Only if my Premium Bond comes up I'm afraid, so I can retire!

I thought we were going to Ireland next year to see Big Chris WendyK9 etc on their home turf? The ferry for that will cost a lot, can't really afford 2 overseas hols in one year.

Holland or France would be nice tho'. Fancy Austria, Germany & Switzerland too. And all the other places a bit further on that used to be part of Russia & all have new strange names.

Oh well. ..................... Give ERNIE a nudge for me.

Have been with euro sites, keycamp and canvas all now the same group. We liked canvas best, good quality. It used to be more expensive than the others in low season but the last two years it has been mid priced. Keycamp and canvas are pretty much a muchness, they both offer greater flexibility on arrival dates and length of stay. For tents though I think canvas are the best around. Bigger, separate kitchen area with child gate, bedrooms away from each other, better equipment larger living area.

We went to France for the first time in June with Canvas, their tents are first class and the couriers couldn't be more helpful.  Berny Riviere is a great site, lots to do for kids, we didn't want to leave.

Mary,

We have used Eurocamp Independent and Canvas. We took our own gear to France with Eurocamp Ind. and stayed at La Yole in The Vendee last year. Very helpful courier, good concessions on the ferry and not too large a site. Excellent kids' club run jointly between Eurocamp and Keycamp (called funstation). This year we got ryan air cheap flights from Bournemouth to Spain so opted for a 'ready erected'  tent there and booked with Canvas. I had previously been a touch snooty about this sort of holiday...not proper camping..!! Excellent. Talk about luxury compared to what we're used to with our own tent! Comfy beds, loads of outdoor furniture, BBQ, all the kitchen gear you need, proper fridge, mirror...(!) And the couriers are so friendly and helpful. Ran their own kids club, including 'wildlife courier'. The pitches are on the small side but the amenities at the sites we stayed at were first class and we tended not to be at the tent that much. I would recommend Nautic Almata for anyone thinking of going to spain - they have no mobiles there at all so the atmosphere is really special. Canvas also sell in Germany and Holland so you might well be pitched alongside them - not just all Brits in a row! Admittedly we went out of season (May/June half-term time) so the concessions were amazing but I could not fault Canvas and would go with them again. We requested to be away from amenities so as not to be next to the toilet block or play area and were put in really nice places. If you look in the brochures they tell you how long the tour operator has been using the site which can have a bearing on which gets the better pitches...

Well, that's enough rambling on from me. Hope this has been helpful. Happy hols!!

Caroline
