Hiya, we always take an airer, they were only £6.99 in Lidl recentley and they pack flat into a roofbox, although ours is now in France. L13, M13 and N13 are all nice pitches, L13 would be great if you have young children as you would be close to the park. I didn't have a sunlounger this year, I had planned to buy one over there but they were very expensive in Soldoga and Mr Bricolage, so I shall take my B&Q one over next year. We spent the last 5 days of our hols on M12 as our original pitch was already reserved by a couple who have been going for the last 14 years, now that's loyalty.

Ah right someone on either P14 or O14 had a white sun lounger we left last Wednesday, I think we are going to go on M13. I know what you mean about loyalty as we asked about all the end pitches and C9, 10 and 11 and all are reserved.
Plenty of parking, even for motor homes, with easy access to La Grand Cote which is the nearest beach. You can see La Grande Cote on the website below & the parking for motorhomes is practically where the arrow is pointing.
Although we enjoyed our stay at LdB, both my wife & I got some pretty tasty insect bites, fortuneately it seems that we sacrificed ourselves for the kids who were spared. I'm not sure if it was midges, or ants falling from the trees, did anyone else get bitten?
thanks mountain runner. How old are your kids and how did they find LdB?
I'm really interested in the site where Le Puits de Auture used to be at St Palais sur Mer, when we drove past it was work in progress but the location looked unbeatable.

Kids are 7 & 12. As I posted earlier we were pretty far from the pool & facilities, but the kids were quite happy to get on their bikes if they wanted to go to the pool. For a few of the days we had a big French motorhome on the pitch next to us. I ran to & from the beach pretty often & I saw several families cycling, but given the heat I don't think that cycling there would be much fun for a young family if done too often.
Yes we were eaten, my mil who came with us has been to the docs today as hers has turned into impetigo and is now on a course of antibiotics, mine are dry now so hopefully I am ok, my youngest dd has also been to the docs today and showed them her bites and they are not infected but has given her some antibiotic cream beacuse she keeps scratching them.
We put them down to the heat, last year only my eldest dd was biten and only on her feet we put this down to sand midges in the park.
Regarding bites, it was odd this year - in our first 2 weeks (last week of July & first of August) none of us got insect bites but we all got bitten the week after!
Prevoiusly, I've seen loads of mosquitoes on site, but none this year - but we did have a few ants in the awning - maybe that's what caused the bites??!! Anyway, a mere inconvenience and in no way spoilt the stay at what must be one of the best campsites in France.....

I had a couple of bites, nothing major and they didn't itch too much. I put it down to the heat. Our friends in the woods got bitten a lot more than we did, which is why I prefer to be out in the sunny pitches. OH and boys didn't get bitten at all.
We drove past Puits de L'Auture, I'd imagine it would be a great site for motorhomes as the beach is just across the road. Is someone else taking it over?
