You can request a specific pitch when booking from the 1st december. When you recieve your confirmation letter it will have your pitch number on it, written on the letter it states that the campsite reserve the right to change your pitch on arrival. Other people we spoke to seemed to get their requested pitch every year.

The pool was mostly busy we managed to get loungers though. We tended to turn up at any time we fancied a swim. We didnt que at the opening of the pool.

The beach.Firstly its safe for children ( we have 10,6,4 year olds) . It doesnt shelve gently. I would guess that it  was up to my waste after wading in about 20 foot. However there were areas 100 foot out that people were standing in . So must be sandbanks. No seaweed, sandy bottom, minimal tide, no strong currents, no pebbles. Lovely setting and very handy for the camp site. Outside showers at beech/campsite entrance very handy for washing sand off when returning to pitch. Oh and a security man on gates also.

Anything else you need to now let us now.

Your not going to nick our pitch are you? now weve given away our secrets! LOL

Did I say they take bookings from the 1st december? I think its the 2nd december they start! LOL

Thnks for all your help. Dont worry your pitch is safe unless you're going the last week of August.

just back from France and ressurecting this thread I started last year. We tried to get on Les Sablons but after being messed about by reception we gave up. We arrived at 12.30pm and they indicated on the map the pitches we could choose from. We had a drive around and found a great pitch (E11 I think) so we left the MH on the pitch and went to book in only to be told no it was taken, looked for another- went back only to be told no that was taken too. By this point (it was a hot day) we were really fed up and said please just give us details of the pitches you have free. They offered us some pitches in Tamaris which were too tight so we had to admit defeat and give up. I'm still gutted tbh as the site looked great. I wonder if having the acsi card which worked out nearly 50% less than the normal price affected what they offered us.

Anyway, we definetly want to go back next August so am going to try and book early for one of the E pitches or am wondering about trying Les Mimosas instead which is just up the road. Think I'll see what Les Sablons can offer when they start booking for 2011 this December but OH worried we will drive all that way only to be "messed about" again.

Hi,

Sorry they messed you about; hope it works for next year! You didn't take your new tent then? We've just bought the same model & took it to Devon last week. We are really pleased with it & looking forward to July & Les Rivages & Les Sablons. Hope we've made the right choice with Les Rivages; everyone seems so impressed with Les Peupliers & that was the other option!

Fiona

Hi Fiona, we took the in laws motorhome and now I'm wondering do we need the Camplet (we've only used it for one weekend so far!!). Did you buy the Savanne new or second hand? The Savanne appears alot less popular than the Concorde but we much prefered the Savanne.

Next year we are planning an overnight at Filature then 10 nights at Les Sablons or Mimosa followed by 4 at Les Peupliers which we just loved. We reckon after the big coastal site a few days at the end of the holiday on the river is just what we will need.

Hi,

We bought the savanne new, Camperlands is only round the corner from us & their display is so tempting. We part ex-ed our Chantilly which they were repairing for us. We preferred the Savanne cos' you take the whole front off which we felt would be better in France. They told us the Camplet holds its price well whichever model.

We'll go to La Filature on the way back again, don't want to miss the great takeaway, means no cooking for the last few days!

Fiona
