We were in the Jura and found the prices pretty much the same as the UK or cheaper. It wasn't a very touristy area and had cheap supermarkets near by, Got some good bargains, like large bottle of Balsamic vinegar for 99c

The campsite beer wasn't cheap but no worse than you'd pay in our local town at one of the bars. But plenty of cheap bottles of larger available from the supermarkets. Ice-creams, again not cheap but fine. 1 E 20 for a one boule cornet. Dirt cheap compared to the festival we went to in the UK!! Where we got charged £1.80 for a lemonade ice-lolly.

Petrol was a very mixed bag, I think the most expensive we saw was 1E 45 on a toll road.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

We were in Normandie, the Loire and Auvergne - saw (but didn't buy) some extremely high priced beer, coffee and meals but found plenty of places that were no more expensive than UK (occasionally less): I think the big problem is that with the exagerrated value of the pound people have become used to relatively low prices in France. By and large you're now paying the same amount in UK or France so no bargains (but hey, much better food and settings!). From what I gather, prices in Spain and, more so, Greece and Portugal, are still considerably below British/French ones.

When we were at Lake Garda in June, we stopped at a bar in Peschiera, a large (real) coffee and a genuine Coca Cola came to the princely sum of €3.30 so you can guess which establishment we frequented for our morning coffees! other places in Pescheira were charging at least €4 for coffee, it pays to find out where the locals go.

I have three sides, left, right and wrong - which one are you on?
