Almost universal grey here again at my house this morning, and still freezing cold!   See a good French weather 'picture' here.  I always think these maps with sun/cloud/rain/snow are a great way of displaying the weather.  It's currently 1 degree around the Ariege, and parts of the Auvergne, and 18 degrees looks to be the maximum temperature anywhere in France today - down on the Cote d'Azur!   At least if we'd been heading to Provence we would have been in the right area for the best weather!

I don't want to cause doom and gloom, but I've just been looking at the French weather website mentioned by Val A and there's a suggestion that the Icelandic eruption might cause the weather in Europe to cool slightly....!

Not on the Norfolk Lines - Dover/Dunkirk 10-00 Sunday 16th by any chance? If so will buy you a coffee for recommending Neptune at Agde last year !!!!!

No, a bit later than that - but we may bump into you somewhere................!    Where are you heading?  We're still not sure where our final destination might be - Ardeche/Millau/Neptune (again) or somewhere else.  It will all depend on the weather!

I'm glad you enjoyed Neptune - to me, although it's less than perfect in some ways, it's just one of those sites which can make a holiday..............!   We celebrated David's 60th birthday there, so I suppose it will always be memorable for the lovely meal we had in Lou Pescadou in Agde (where Rick Stein ate on his voyage on the Canal du Midi - a sort of glorified workmans' cafe but lovely French home cooking at a very reasonable price!).

Looking to travel to Annecy, Avignon, Millau/Tarn Gorges/ possibly Neptune, & Carcasonne or to Dordogne via Rodez (as suggested by you on another thread) then back "home" to Bois Soleil at St Georges De Didonne followed by a week limping back to Dunkirk. We have 7 weeks away with 3 at St Georges other than that wherever the fancy takes us.

Of course, I remember now - and you want back to Bois Soleil after Neptune last year, if I remember rightly.  How lovely to have so long!  We did hope to go for longer this year, but circumstances have changed and we're just having three weeks now - but then we go again at the end of August and may extend that holiday a little, too.
