Well, there was/is a strike - and guess who's affected!  My youngest son!  He was on his way to Barcelona, by train to meet his girlfriend, and the train he was supposed to catch last night was cancelled.  Fortunately he was able to stay overnight in Paris with a friend of my eldest son.  They went out to Le Dernier Metro (his favourite bistro nearby) where they do a 15 euro menu with starter, main and desert, which includes his favourite entrecote/frites, plus coffee, and where they apparently had a great time!!!

Normal service resumes at 8.00 am this morning, so he's catching a later train to Perpignan instead, where they're going to meet up again and camp for a few days in Argeles! They're hoping to be able to get to Croatia eventually, using their inter-rail tickets!

If anyone meets up with Will and Ruth (him 6'3", designer stubble, mousy hair, she 5'4', pretty, dark hair) camping in a Coleman Bedrock, with little in the way of camping gear, whilst 'back-packing' around Europe, then do say Hi.

I hope no-one else has been affected!

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
