Been to Bel for last two years, 5 weeks in all and never had a problem with the tap water.
As for other Bel specific advice... do you have kids and if so what age?
Take bikes.
It is sandy so long pegs if you are in a tent although it is also very sheltered so no great problem with the wind.
If you are arriving on a Saturday then be prepared for a lot of traffic. It gets very busy just before you leave the autoroute at onoe of the peage points, we were stuck for an hour last yr. Also very busy in and around La Tranche on Saturday. The supermarket is very close but extremely busy - don't take your car in! I would advise avoiding it at all cost on a Saturday.
The bread van comes around every morning, ringing his infernal bell! Depending on where you are pitched you may be greeted by the bell at 8am every day. He is expensive - quality is good so it's a choice. You can walk to the supermarket in <5 mins though so bread is never far away.
Probably loads more I could tell you but in all, it's a great site and we have had two lovely holidays there.
