I'll never forget a friend who had a rusty gas BBQ on a site in the south of france, the burner had rotted and large flames were coming out, he thought it a good idea to cover this flame with real charcoal, well !! the smoke lingered in the trees for ages, I'm sure the site owners though there was a forest fire!! he ended up throwing water on it and using mine!!
