I'm feeling quite excited now! Can't book anything yet until my annual leave is confirmed or messed about by work so hope they get a move on!

The site I had been looking at is the Delftse Hout one, I personally prefer smaller quieter sites but since it will be our main summer holiday I feel the need to make sure there will be plenty for my daughter to do on site for those times when we aren't gadding about. Mind you I don't like so many attractions that I can't prise her off the site to see the country we are visiting

When approching a road junction be aware that there is a cycle track there as well. Dutch cyclists tent to put a lot of faith in cars stopping for them, far more so than UK cyclists. Also watch for cycle tracks on roundabouts & cyclists approaching at a fair speed.

The size of bike many ride, you are well advised to keep a sharp lookout, a car is small in comparison.

I am Dutch. Born in Delft and living in the area of The Hague. I have spent my holidays in the UK for odd 30 years. Don't worry about driving on the right as long as you realise to do so. Mind the bikers. You will be suprised by the amount of them. Delftse Hout is the best choice for visiting Delft. But you can also try http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=7628 In Wassenaar, near The Hague. A huge one, not your first choice, but a lot to do for children. Attraction park. Almost all Dutch do speak english. At least a bit and some fluently. The Harwich-Hook of Holland ferry is your best option for that part of Holland. Within a hour on your destination. Excellent new ships.

Good luck and enjoy your stay.

Gutted! We are being told we can't take 2 week hols in July and August (ie when our kids are off school - why would we want our family holiday when the kids are off hey!) so looks like Holland is off the agenda - I can't face driving all that way and then only staying 4 nights
