Hi Tessa yes it looks lovely, if I could hook up and go Tomorrow that would be great, do you remember if there are any sites there for tourers at all ?

I remember seeing a site listed at Moraira in one of the books you can get about sites abroad, about a mile inland from the sea, but I haven't been there since I knew about it so I've never seen it and can't tell you what it's like.

One of my favourite things to do was to buy an English newspaper and sit at one of the cafes with a view of the sea having brunch and a couple of coffees.  You can see the Penon de Ifach at Calpe in the distance (it's a big funny shaped rock - which if you've got the inclination and the stamina you can walk up).

Another favourite trip was to Guadalest in the mountains.  Although it's quite touristy it's so small it can't get any more touristy so it's stayed just as it is for years and it has a wonderful charm to it.  It's well worth the extra trip to the chapel/cemetry right at the very top.  But be aware of the twisty roads to get there, just remember that coaches go along them so they can't be all that bad, and it's a scenic journey through the orange and lemon groves on the way.

Some of the small towns you pass through, such as Denia and Altea, on the main roads they look almost deserted and derelict, but go off the beaten track and you'll find bustling market places and charming old towns.
