Sounds like you have chosen somewhere but if not have a look at my recent thread (Eeek, baby, toddler,car, tent, France- or something like that sorry dont know how to do a link!) which has lots of ideas for sites in southern brittany and Loire.
One random tip totally unrelated to sites, is to take plenty of food with you. Last year we found basic supermarket supplies rather expensive which shouldnt have been that surprising but we were thinking of space in the car when we decided not to take too much. This year we will be taking plenty of non perishable foods that kids are always happy to eat (yes that includes baked beans!) so that one meal a day is covered if required and we can splash out for other more typically french meals. It also means that you have something to rustle up if you arrive hungry to find the shop or restaurant is not open!
