Hot here in the Languedoc, too!  But a lovely breeze this afternoon, and this evening it's very pleasant indeed.

But I've developed a sensitivity to the sun - red blotchy and very very itchy rash, on my arms, face, and chest - which is why I'm on here (wifi I mean, but couldn't resist a look-see on UKCS), and apparently it's likely to be due to one of the tablets I'm taking.  I haven't even been in the sun, really, it's too hot - just when walking about the site - but I'm itching like mad, so had to find out what was causing it!

Now, having found out, I'm going back to the caravan to cool it down with some ice-cold rose, bought after the wine-tasting we've just been to.

Bye for now!

Come on Val, give us a clue, which site are you on and what's it like?

And I hope the itching stops soon.

In the 40's for last 2 days in southern dordogne. Mega thunderstorm on Friday night. Lovely breeze this morning but already in the 30's by 10am.

Just luck of the draw i suppose, we had to go early to s.of france and had terrible weather. I know that places like the ardeche, lake annecy and dordogne etc weather builds to mid / high 30's then you get a couple of terrible days which clears the air pressure.

Like all of us the weather makes such a difference, but will never drive that 14-16 hours to s.of france just to chase the sun that never was. It will be a one day drive for me from now one which usually gets us to the dordogne region.

Literally just got back from Dordogne (fantastic holiday -post and reviews to follow) - on the way we nearly changed and went to Spain as we were worried it was too cool (ha!)- by the time tent was up I had managed to get burnt and the whole of last week it didnt drop below 32 and actually fri/sat/sun it was just over 40 degrees - did manage to cope though by doing nothing apart from sitting by the rover and trip to supermarket pm to cool down! Interestingly though by about 11 pm it was cool till about 830 am so nights were never an issue - right, need to unpack and will post again later! Oh yes and stopped as Loire on way back and that was scorching too (34)

We are at lax d'orient near troyes and have also been roasting for 5 days. Not as hot as you guys further down but hot enough to make people grumpy!

In the vendee at the moment and it's only around 18 degrees and cloudy.

We drove through a massive storm at le mans yesterday lunchtime, just had time to put the tent up before another serious downpour. Had rivers running off the roof of the tent.

Am hoping for a few degrees warmer and less cloud. The site is fab, fairly quiet with a huge pitch.

Still hot - 35 degrees today, and my rash has gone!  Yippee - we've been out walking today and inadvertently did about twice as far as we expected!  Fortunately we were well equipped with bottles of water, sun cream, and even a VERY useful umbrella which provided some essential shade!

Site - not telling, but it's COMPLET anyway!  However, because we're well-known here we did manage to get the sneaky 'last pitch' even though the couple in front of us were told that the site was full! There are lots of French people staying on for the last week of their holidays, and some Dutch people, but not many English here at all.

The site at St Pons was only about half full - because it was even hotter there, and many people have come down to the coast because it's cooler here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
