This really techy thing only works if the banks allow it,if they close their doors and their websites theres not much you can do. even if you transfer money you still need to access it through an ATM or a bank.

If banks really do close their doors then hard cash under the caravan bed should prove useful.  A friend lives in Cairo and stayed there right through the recent revolution, when banks were quite firmly closed, as were shops, and most telephones weren't working, nor mobile networks, and hence no internet.  There was only intermittent electricity, and fuel pumps were not always working.

He said it was a very strange time, but his local shop had a hatch in the barricaded doors, where known customers could ask for an item, and if they didn't have cash it was noted down 'on a slate' which they paid for later!  Manned barricades at the end of each street helped protect areas from strangers, but again people who were known to the barricade men were allowed through.

I think human inventiveness will help us through most scenarios - even if we can't look up 'how to do it.........' on the internet! 

really can't see a country like France going into any sort of meltdown and I am sure they will have planned for any trouble they may be about to face.  Just don't let your cupboards get low and the same for your petrol in case there is ever a day or two of panic. 

  If anything is going to go down there will be a few days warning and something will be in place to support anyway!!

Yes that's what it was exactly Tentz - it was reported in the Sunday Times no less, but I did take it all with a bit of a pinch of salt.  Having said that, although Santander Bank is No1 in Spain, and investors are protected by the UK rules, I nearly got my fingers burned with Icelandi Banki when Iceland had their problems so we have taken the precaution of moving some assets out of there just in case they all go belly up.
